Start with the decision, not the method
Before anything is commissioned, the question gets defined: what decision is waiting, who owns it, and what would have to be true to move. Method follows from that, never the other way around.
How I work
Engagements differ in size and shape. The discipline underneath them doesn't.
The arc of every engagement
Evidence assembled and read honestly. Signal separated from noise, patterns named plainly, and gaps acknowledged rather than papered over.
Findings tied to the commercial reality: the consumer behavior behind the number, the risk being carried, the opportunity being underweighted.
A recommendation the business can act on, specific enough to move, sized to what the organization can actually execute.
Operating principles
Before anything is commissioned, the question gets defined: what decision is waiting, who owns it, and what would have to be true to move. Method follows from that, never the other way around.
Most organizations know more than they think. Prior research, sales data, category context, and frontline knowledge are read together before new fieldwork is proposed. New research earns its place.
Some questions warrant a full quantitative read. Others need six well-run conversations and a clear point of view. The scale of the work is set by the weight of the decision.
Clarity is not the same as oversimplification. Nuance and contradiction are kept when they matter to the decision, and removed when they only add noise.
Work ends with a recommendation and its implications: what to do, what it means for adjacent teams, and where the remaining uncertainty sits.
The working relationship
Engagements are scoped to a defined question or a defined period, with a clear owner on your side and clear checkpoints. No standing overhead, no team to manage, no ramp-up tax.
Work happens alongside your people rather than around them: briefing agencies, sitting in the planning meeting, presenting to leadership, and handing back something the team can carry forward once the engagement ends.
If a decision keeps getting deferred for lack of a clear read, that's the right place to start.
